In 1683, at the gates of Vienna, Polish King Jan III Sobieski led a heroic charge that turned the tide of history. Facing a massive Ottoman force of over 200,000 with just 18,000 Polish troops, Sobieski vowed to lay down his life defending the Christian faith if necessary. On September 12, his cavalry - led by the famed Winged Hussars - launched a thunderous attack that shattered the Ottoman siege. This victory not only saved Vienna but halted Ottoman expansion into Europe, preserving Western Christendom. Sobieski's dauntless courage against overwhelming odds earned him the title “Lion of Lechistan” from the Ottoman sultans out of their fear and respect for him and wrote him into the history books as an unwavering “Defender of the Faith”.
The Defender of the Faith is a bold tribute to tradition, faith and craftsmanship. Crafted from high-contrast Damascus steel forged by Brad Vice, this blade embodies resilience and timeless elegance. The flame inspired pommel meets a polished Arizona Ironwood handle, wrapped in black leather and paired with a stitched leather sheath. This heritage piece is a steadfast reminder to future generations: hold fast, stand firm, and Defend the Faith.
